What is NLP?

NLP or ‘Neuro-Linguistic Programming’ is a way of understanding how and why people think, feel, speak and behave the way they do. NLP techniques support you in ‘re-programming’ your thoughts or to think differently about certain situations and therefore achieve different results,

Developed back in the 1970s by John Grinder and Richard Bandler, NLP helps you change your thoughts which, in turn, changes your behaviour helping you free yourself of limiting beliefs and negative emotions you have perhaps carried for a long time.

When used in coaching sessions, NLP provides unique insights into the barriers we face in achieving our goals and specific techniques to help us overcome them. NLP differs from CBT in that CBT looks at changing the way we think and behave whilst NLP looks at ‘how’ we think and how this affects the way in which we behave. Once we understand the ‘how’ then we’re empowered to make the changes we need.
